I make samosas occasionally – the child is very fond of them and I don’t mind them myself. But in one of those calorie counting moods, I decided to bake the samosas rather than fry them. I checked the net and the good thing about the Internet is that it leads you to believe everything is possible.
So I baked a couple of samosas and presented it to the child for an opinion. And what did he say?
This is roti with vegetables, where is the samosa?
Yes, that showed me alright!
Exactly! What’s the fun if a samosa isn’t sinful??????
My bad! It was dry just like a roti. I wonder how people did make it so that it was tasty and non sinful… I guess I will be left wondering!
LOL, that was so cute!
That said, I have been thinking of trying out baked samosas. This kinda puts me off!
Nooo, do try and see if you can get a better effect.
Lol, and so it is! What’s the point of samosas if they’re not fried?! That said, I’ve managed somewhat lower fat versions using puff pastry. Yes puff pastry isn’t low fat by any means, and the taste of the result is more ‘puff’ than samosa, but I *felt* all virtuous
Ah, eat a samosa and feel virtuous about it – that’s exactly the effect I was looking for!
Attaboy !! The bake is worse than the bite…..
And the PV returns in full glory! Yipppppeeeee!
I wish she would stay! I miss her! PV, are thou listening?
LOL! Only y’day was I thinking of what you and Bunnu would be doing!
ROFLROFLROFL! I love him!
Chuckle. He does have a way of getting right to the heart of the matter!
